Just wondering why I can't access the excellent article by Al Markowitz that appeared in the print version of Veer for February 15,2013. Itwas called, Beyond the Lunacy of the Republican Cold War Redux and spoke of imagining what the U.S. might be like if obama really WAS a socialist, as so many Republican media types like to claim. i enjoyed it immensely and wanted to share with others. ....why no online access? I am puzzled and dismayed.

I have lived in VA Beach for 29 years and my husband for 14 years. I can tell you from ocsaiconal passing through visits that VA Beach is not as crowded as richmond seems. Va Beach has its good spots and bad spots. Richer neighbor hoods will tend to have less crime than poorer ones of course. Norfolk tends to be a less favorable place to safely raise kids to me and my husband will not even consider Hampton as a place to live becasue of the crime. Same with Portsmouth. The houses cost less there for a reason Chesapeake is rapidly growing and Suffolk still seems to be more country with far less crime but the houses can be more pricey too. When I look at houses to rent I look at certain parts of chesapeake, suffolk and va beach. The bad part is realtors wont tell you ahead of time which are troubled' places and which aren't. If you get serious looking at VA Beach then Email me and I can tell you which neighborhood is decent and which are shaky. Va beach has by far the best active night life espically during the summer.
